The wine is produced from either a 4, 5 or 6 week wine kit, meaning that it will take 4, 5, or 6 weeks respectively from start of a kit until it is ready to bottle.

Each kit contains juice and/or concentrates in different amounts. Generally, the more expensive (6 week wine kits) contain more grape juice and less concentrate, resulting in a finer bottle of wine.

All the wine produced at The Wine Connection can be consumed as soon as it is ready to be bottled. However, the wine does improve significantly when aged in the bottles in cool (15 – 20 C) and slightly humid (50 – 75%) storage. Wine from 4 week kits will generally benefit from one to two months storage. However, due to low levels of natural preservatives in the wine, it should not be kept much longer than 12-16 months.

Wine from the 6 week kits can also be consumed right away, but as these wines are of a higher quality it is recommended, to get the best enjoyment, that they are aged for 6 – 9 months before consumption. The wine from these kits ages well for up to 3 years or more depending on storage conditions.

All the wine kits we carry will produce approx. 30 bottles of 750 ml.
